When I initially wrote about Plurk, I noted that while it was a great service, I don't see it gaining too much traction because of its similarity to Twitter which seems to be in that comfy spot where no one really wants to switch to another service, whichever novelties it may bring.
Fast forward one month, and Plurk seems to be doing mighty fine, with a lot of enthusiastic users plurking all day long. And, as it usually goes, all those cool applications and services that exist for Twitter are now showing up for Plurk. One of them is Plurkmania, which, similarly to Twitterholic, brings us the top Plurkers list, but it also adds a whole lot of other interesting stats to the mix.
First of all, you can see top lists of Plurkers according to all of Plurk's variables: Karma, Location, Friends, Fans, Friends & Fans, Plurks, Responses, Plurks & Responses and Recruited.
Furthermore, you can browse through Plurk users by country, or just take a peek at the general stats. It's all really nifty if you're the number crunching type, and it looks way better than Twitterholic. Now we just need authors to add little buttons so we quickly can add all those folks as friends, and we're all set for another round of top user mass-friending.
