Personalized start page Netvibes has added an often sought feature: Google Search. If it doesn't show for you yet, close Netvibes and reopen it. This is how it looks:

The settings for Google Search can be found in the Settings - General dialog, accessible from the upper right corner in your Netvibes page. You can hide the search or move it above/below the title, and you can have the search results open in a new tab or the same one you're currently in.
As for the search itself, it's a slightly customized version of the standard Google Search, with Video, Blog, News, Images, Books searches available as tabs. Although it opens within Netvibes, it's blazing fast, which is a pleasant surprise. If you set searches to open in a new tab, they'll stay open in that tab, which means you can use this feature to always have a couple of often conducted searches handy.
